The Last of the Mohicans

The movie the Last of the Mohicans is a powerful story of the struggle to survive. We use this movie to analyze what happened here in Northwest Ohio. What do you think about the alliances formed with the indigenous people and the different groups? Did these alliances ever benefit the indigenous people of the Americas? What do you think? What about Fallen Timbers? Did Little Turtle and his group benefit from the battle? Why or Why not?

  1. Countries that wish to conquer a place have the necesity to get "native allies", but not necesarily because the whites (conquerors) are good at all. They have to do this in order to get informants and people able to do the "hard" work, so they take advantage of the "alleged ignorance" of the indigenous. Thereby, as we could see in the movie, the alliance between Hawkeye (and his folks) and the British (including Magua) was not the best that Hawkeye and his gang should do, due it did not work as they expected.

  2. well. I believe that each county which it would like to conquer a place. should find a native allies because they know every thing in thier land. However, if these alliances ever benefit the indigenous people of the Americas or not. Although, the movie showen us that the French was being freindly with the Magua's nation, and they were going to win in that war. Finally, I like that movie, which it showen us how was the war on that time. Also it showen us the dresses on that time. :)

  3. It is a really wonderful movie. I like it so much; it brings me back to that age which has the war between the British army and the French army.

In the movie, there is also love. It lends the romanticism to the story. In my opinion, the British army officer who loves the daughter of his commander is the most woeful role of the movie.

  4. Although the movie was made in 1992, it was a great movie. Frankly Speaking, i was dozing during the movie time. But i got and watched it again, i could understand what happened in the movie. Those indegenous people helped British people to survive. Unfortunately, Uncas was dead. Actually, it has many meanings; they cannot carry on their family line any more, and nature's destruction. In the movie, Nathaniel's people were described as the good, Magua was described as the evil. But the Indians had to be on France's side for their tribe. why was it described like this? If we consider carefully, we can see that the indian was described as the good, who helped the White.

  5. The Last of the Mohicans movie is about two society’s fighting between English and the French in North America 1757. The story of the Last of the Mohicans film seems to be love story between Hawk brother and Cora. The Last of the Mohicans confusing me and it takes long time to get the characters and situations straight. However,The Last of the Mohicans is a great historical movie.
